Product Information

MedicAlert ID jewellery is custom made to the size requested when ordering and engraved with your vital medical information. Your jewellery will be handcrafted by our team of in-house expert jewellers, ensuring a high-quality product which we will proudly stand behind with quality checks at every step.

To ensure you choose the right size, please refer to our measurement guide before placing your order. We recommend measuring your wrist rather than existing jewellery, as we make the size to the inner circumference of the bracelet or necklace rather than end-to-end on a ruler.

To ensure you choose a disc large enough for your needs, please refer to our character count.

Please note:

All length measurements INCLUDE the disc, therefore we do not recommend measuring an existing piece of jewellery. For bracelets, we recommend measuring your wrist, as we make the size to the inner circumference of the bracelet rather than end-to-end on a ruler. More information can be found in our measurement guide.
Due to the varying size of components used to create our bracelets, exact sizing of finished pieces is not always possible. In these situations, we always round up to the nearest centimetre; please bear this in mind when ordering your bracelet.
Some components, such as clasps, may slightly differ from those shown in the product imagery, as we use several suppliers to maintain availability.
Our metal types may contain small amounts of nickel and other base metals.
All of the silver (925) and gold (9 carat) that we work with meets quality standards and has been hallmarked by the UK Assay Office, but the precise alloy of each component may vary slightly as we use several suppliers.
We do NOT recommend engraving your emergency contact details (names or telephone numbers) on your disc.
We do not recommend including medical instructions on your disc.
We will correct spelling mistakes using British English, as well as formatting errors and the use of correct medical terms.
Our registered nurses may have other suggested changes. They will contact you to discuss these, if necessary.
If you need any advice on what wording to have engraved, please ring us on 01908 951 045 and ask to speak to a nurse. Alternatively, you can add a note in the special delivery instructions.

Warranty

We guarantee that your medical ID jewellery will be made to the highest standards by our expert jewellers and it will be delivered to you in pristine condition.

MedicAlert provides a Warranty on all manufacturer defects from the dispatch date as follows:

3 months for all beaded items
6 months for Sports Bands, Activity Bands, Wristband Tags and Athena Leather Bracelets
12 months for all other jewellery

The Warranty covers: defects in the material or workmanship of clasps, chains, straps or wires, watch batteries and the readability of the disc.

The Warranty does not cover: repairs made by anyone other than our skilled jewellery team; products damaged from everyday wear and tear; tarnishing of silver; scratching of the disc, enamel, chain and attachments; damage resulting from misuse or accidental handling; exposure to lotions and creams; lost/misplaced products; and changes in engraved information after the engraved product is approved. 

In the unlikely event that you have a problem with the jewellery within the warranty period, you can return the item to us for inspection and we will either repair or replace it.

Your statutory rights are not affected by this guarantee.

Care & Cleaning

How to care for your MedicAlert ID jewellery

Wash metal and silicone straps regularly in warm, soapy water.
Spot clean fabric or leather straps and beads, using a damp cloth.
Do not use abrasive cloths and avoid contacts with cleaning products.
Perspiration, perfume and creams can increase tarnishing. Avoid contact where possible.
Please note; when your jewellery is new and highly polished, a cleaning cloth may dull its appearance.
Enamel can be affected by wear and tear. Avoid denting or scratching the enamel.
To avoid scratching, do not wear silver or gold jewellery alongside other items.
Do not bathe or swim in silver or gold jewllery.

Storing your jewellery

Store all jewellery individually, as storing jewellery together means that they could potentially damage one another.
Store in a cool, dark & dry environment – such as a jewellery box or pouch.

Delivery Details

We aim to dispatch all orders within 10 working days of receiving payment.

However, sometimes we may need to contact you to check some medical information which can cause a small delay if we cannot reach you.

All orders are charged at the following rates:

£2.85 - for all orders up to £44.95. This is a standard service via Royal Mail.
£7.75 - for all orders over £45. This is sent 'Special Recorded Delivery' and requires a signature.
£11.75 - for all international postage.

Great Product

Someone I know had one of these Bracelets so I thought I'd look into getting one myself as I have quite a few Medical Problems. You can get quite a lot of information on the disk on the bracelet although I would have liked to be able to put my Husband's phone number on it. All your Medical Details and Medication are held on record by Medic Alert if you pay a yearly fee which you need to do before purchasing a piece of Jewellry. The idea is that only one phonecall needs to be made for your details to be released in an emergency, using a special password. You also have a card and details of everything to carry with you.

Attractive but not Sturdy

So, I have bought this bracelet twice, consecutively. When I first received it quite a few years back I was incredibly pleased as it is more attractive than any other product I have purchased over my 30+ years of being a member. I only had to replace and buy it again as I unfortunately lost it. This, however, was due to one of the chain links becoming loosened and lost - resulting in loss of the whole bracelet. Upon receiving the second replacement I was somewhat relieved and pleased again. However, only 2 weeks this time after the purchase, similarly the chain links started to loose their shape and open - resulting in the bracelet breaking again. It's very easy to do some self DIY repair, that - that I have already done twice but really concern is loosing the bracelet when I am already certain will happen again.

Good, but...

This bracelet is just what I was looking for. It fits well and looks good. It doesn't score 5 stars because the catch is prone to coming apart meaning the bracelet falls off the wrist. Luckily this has been at home but I do have to be aware when I am out.

Comfortable and secure

I really this bracelet, particularly the weight and design of the chain. The design of this chain very intricate and the it fascinates me how it all interlocks together. The clasp was a little fiddly to close but I ordered mine as a shorter length chain. It is secure though so there is no danger of it coming off.

Bracelet fastener

My new bracelet is lovely, but I haven't been able to wear it because I can't work the fastener (due to arthritis in hands). Could you please consider an option to change to e.g. a magnetic fastener?

Stylish, Comfy and Durable

I bought this bracelet to wear for work, as I didn't want to wear my gold one and lose it again. I had previously broken the clasp on the gold one, getting it caught in metalwork and it took a while to find! I thought the Byzantine, stainless steel, bracelet would be ideal. As it's weightier than the delicate gold chain, you would know if it fell off...not that it's especially heavy...it's perfectly comfortable. I love that the bracelet makes a statement and is fashionable and matches everything I wear. I especially like the fact that I don't have to remove it to take a bath or shower. I also particularly like the fact that the ID disk stays where you want it. With lighter chains, like my gold one, the disk always swivels round and dangles under my wrist when I type, as the disk is heavier than the chain. However, the weight of the steel chain keeps the disk visible on the back of my wrist, where I like it to be, in case of an emergency. So, in all, a super purchase which I'm delighted with...especially as I bought it in the sale :)

Delighted

After 27 years of wearing the original bracelet design my old medic alert bracelet finally broke I decided to try the new design and absolutely love it! If feels like a fabulous chunky piece of jewellery and not a health warning! Ordering of MedicAlert bracelet

I recently ordered a MedicAlert bracelet (Byzantine Bracelet - Stainless Steel) and uploaded my details just in case of an emergency. I found the process very easy.
