As a charity, our board is made up of our CEO, Kirsten Giles, and trustees. Together, they ensure that MedicAlert provides the service that keeps you safe each and every day, as well as making sure that we move forwards with the times and continue to evolve.
Ian has 30 years technology, marketing, and commercial experience and is currently Chief Revenue Officer at Pluralit, a digital and IT consultancy. He is passionate about applying digital technology to the benefit of consumers and organisations. Ian has an inherited cardiac condition and wears a MedicAlert ID since a cardiac arrest in 2015. MedicAlert was one of the factors enabling him to return to his work involving significant global travel.
Masha has held positions as a senior clinician within the NHS and is an experienced Consultant in Emergency Medicine for over a decade. Masha is the private healthcare Lead Doctor for Sussex Police, working to improve safety in custody. She has a depth of experience in managing change within complex situations and an ability to bring disparate partners together to achieve common goals. She is passionate about delivering high-value services to our members and brings a strategic vision to the board from a medical viewpoint.
Michael is a paramedic with over 18 years experience in out-of-hospital emergency care roles. This includes leadership, education, operational and support within NHS ambulance services, charity air ambulances, international emergency medical service evaluation and improvement projects. Michael’s aspiration through his support for MedicAlert is to enable healthcare professionals to access the information needed to support good quality care and provide confidence to those living with long-term conditions to live their lives fully.
John is a Chartered Accountant who has been an Honorary Treasurer of a variety of charities over the last 35 years including Samaritans and Helen and Douglas House. John is Managing Director of Corporate Edge, a strategy and business development consultancy. He has written books for The Economist on Finance, Cash Management and Excel Modelling.
David has over 25 years' experience working in information technology, both supporting financial services and healthcare. He is currently a consulting partner at Channel 3, who primarily provide services to the healthcare industry. Their focus is on driving business change through better adoption and use of technology. David is particularly interested in the digitisation of clinical records and the integration of wearable technology in preventing hospital admissions.
Caroline has held a number of senior executive positions with BT including CEO, Payphones and Director of Group Corporate Responsibility, where she launched the first UK major no-fee online fundraising service to enable charities to grow online donations. She brings a wealth of commercial and transformation experience. Caroline is a qualified marketer and also has an MBA. Caroline is a Non-Executive Director for Aldridge Education.
Nick has over 20 years experience as a marketing and communications agency leader, advising brands and organisations on marketing strategies and effectively executing award-winning campaigns. He has worked in some of the UK’s leading agencies, across sectors including finance and charity, with a focus on data-driven marketing, marketing technology and operations. Nick is also a qualified project manager with extensive experience of change management and operating model development.
